Can Selects edit a panel shot on five or more cameras?
Yes. Selects syncs 10 or more camera angles in one project, plus separate lav, boom and wireless audio.
Sync runs on the audio waveform or on timecode. If the show is already synced in Adobe Premiere or Final Cut Pro, import that timeline instead of syncing again.
How does it know which camera to cut to?
Analysis matches each voice to a face and scores every camera angle for each speaker, so chat knows which angle shows who.
Ask for the switch and it follows the speaker, avoids jump cuts and goes wide at natural moments. Chat asks how often to go wide and how often to show reactions, and takes rules like hold the host's close-up for at least five seconds.
Can I pull one segment out of a three-hour taping?
Yes. Analysis splits each recording into topics and subtopics, and search finds any line in the transcript or any moment by what's on screen.
Drag a topic onto the timeline to place that segment, or ask chat to build a cut from just the two you want.
How long does analysis take for a long taping?
About 20 minutes per hour of video. Each file can run up to 10 hours, and there's no limit on how much footage a project holds. Leave Selects open while it runs.
Does the multicam survive the handoff?
Yes. Adobe Premiere and DaVinci Resolve receive the multicam with a choice to nest it or not, and every angle stays linked to its original media.
Premiere also gets speaker labels, color labels, bins that mirror your Selects folders, and topic markers. Final Cut Pro gets the edit as an .fcpxml. Graphics, color and volume changes don't transfer, so finish those in your editor.
Can I change the switching after it's built?
Yes. Tell chat what to change, like fewer reaction shots of the host in the second half, or switch angles yourself with the number keys.
Or leave timestamped comments on the draft and send them to chat. It builds a new draft with every note applied and leaves the original as it was.
