Which voices and models can I use?
Three text to speech models, each with its own script limit:
- ElevenLabs v3 for natural, steady narration, up to 5,000 characters
- MiniMax Speech 2.8 HD for control over mood, speed and pitch, up to 10,000 characters
- Seed Audio 1.0 for expressive reads that can match a voice, up to 2,048 characters
Can the voiceover sound like me?
Close to it. Choose Seed Audio 1.0 and add up to three clips of your voice as references, each up to 30 seconds, and Selects matches that voice for the script you write.
You can't save a cloned voice in Selects, so the references go in with each script.
What languages can the voiceover speak?
Text to speech reads in the language the script is written in, so write it in Spanish and you get Spanish. There's no language picker.
To translate a recording, use the Translate tab. It translates the speech in a clip of up to 5 minutes and re-voices it in any of 29 languages, including Korean, Japanese, Spanish, French, German and Hindi.
Can I change the voice in a clip I already recorded?
Yes. The Voice change tab replaces the voice in a clip of up to 5 minutes and keeps the original timing and delivery. Turn on Remove background noise to clean the recording at the same time.
Can it make music or sound effects?
No. Selects generates voice, not music or sound effects. For ready-made sound effects, open the Sounds tab in the Effects app.
Does AI voiceover use credits?
Yes. Generating audio runs on Selects credits, and each take is charged as its own generation. When the cost can be worked out in advance, it shows above the Generate button.
