It copies the edit,
not the clip

Paste a link, get that edit

Drop in a link to a video you like and tell Selects what to take from it: the style, the structure, the pacing or the captions. It rebuilds that edit around your footage.

Your footage, their rhythm

What ends up on screen is yours. Selects cuts from the clips you added, so your close-ups carry the pacing of the Reel you liked, and nothing from the original lands in your edit.

Borrow the structure

Take how a video is built, not just how it looks: the cold open, five seconds of build before the first word, the line it ends on. Name the part you want and leave the rest.

Then make it yours

The result is a draft on a real timeline. Change any cut by hand, or tell chat what to keep from the reference and what to drop.

Just say it

Type what you want the way you'd tell an editor. These are real prompts, and the clips are what came back.

Prompt: Match the pacing and cuts of this Reel. My clips are the mascara and skin close-ups, keep the serif titles on the open

Prompt: Use this channel's cold open structure. Five seconds of build before the first word, end on READY?

  • Prompt: Copy just the captions from this Reel and put them on my gym clips

  • Prompt: I want my weekly vlog to feel like this channel's. Same pacing and title style, my footage

  • Prompt: Make a trailer for my short film in the style of this one. Build to the title card and only use shots from my folder

How it works

  1. Paste a link and add your footage

  2. Say what to take from it

  3. Fine-tune, then post it

Same Reel.
Your clips, by lunch.

FAQ

How do I copy the editing style of a video?
  1. On the Home screen, choose a reference and paste a link to the video you like.
  2. Add your footage and say what to take from it, like its pacing and its captions.
  3. Selects builds the draft. Change it by hand or keep giving notes in chat.
What does it take from the reference?

Whatever you ask for: the style, the structure, the pacing, the captions or the motion graphics. Say which parts matter and Selects leaves the rest.

Will my video use footage from the reference?

No. It copies the edit, not the clip. Selects cuts from the footage you add, so what ends up on screen is yours.

Can I change the edit after it's matched?

Yes. The result is a regular draft on a real timeline. Fix any cut, caption or graphic by hand, or give notes in chat, like keep the pacing but drop the zooms.

Does matching an edit cost anything?

Your footage is analyzed so Selects can cut from it, and analysis runs on credits. Chat uses credits too, unless you connect your own paid Claude or ChatGPT plan.

You can download Selects and start on the Free plan, no credit card required.

Can I take the matched edit into Premiere, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve or Avid Media Composer?

Yes, as a project file. The cuts, the tracks, and the caption text and timing carry over.

Effects, transitions, titles and caption styling don't. If the look is the point, export the finished video from Selects instead.
