Is Selects a free video editor?

What can I do on the timeline?
Everything you'd expect from an editor:
- Cut with the selection and razor tools, with snapping and zoom
- Add markers with notes and colors
- Set volume from -60 to +12 dB, with fades on the timeline
- Change speed from 25% to 1000%, with or without pitch kept
- Move, scale, mask and keyframe any clip
- Grade with basic controls, HSL, color wheels and curves
- Add transitions, text, stickers and sound effects
- Cut or restore words in the transcript
- Disable a clip instead of deleting it
Can I use my Premiere or Final Cut Pro shortcuts?
Yes. Pick the Selects, Premiere, Final Cut Pro or DaVinci Resolve shortcut preset, or import your own keymap as a .kys, .commandset or .xml file.
What can I export?
Video in 4K, FHD or HD, at the project frame rate or at 24, 25, 30, 50 or 60 fps. You can export several drafts at once.
A draft with sound and nothing on screen exports as a .wav. Transcripts export as a text file or a Caption SRT file, and you can post straight to YouTube and TikTok.
What files can I edit?
H.264, H.265/HEVC, ProRes and DNxHD/DNxHR video, in mp4, mov, mkv, mxf, webm and more, plus common audio and image files. RED .R3D isn't supported directly, so edit it with proxies.
What computer do I need?
A Mac with Apple Silicon (M1 or later) or a Windows 11 PC. Selects is a desktop app, and 16 GB of RAM or more and an SSD are recommended.
