How do I translate video subtitles?
- Drop your video into Selects, analyze it and add captions in the Captions app.
- Click Ask chat, choose Translate captions and type the language you want.
- The translation lands on its own track under the original. Fix any line, then export.
Which languages can I translate captions into?
You type the language you want, rather than picking from a menu. Selects doesn't publish a fixed list for caption translation.
Captions can be made from footage in any of the 90+ languages Selects transcribes.
Can I export translated subtitles as an SRT file?
Yes. Export a Caption SRT file for each language. Translated captions are also burned into any video you export.
Can Selects translate the voice too?
Yes, as a separate step. The Translate tab in the Generate audio app re-voices a clip of up to 5 minutes in any of 29 languages. It's a generation feature, so it runs on credits.
What happens to the translation if I change the cut?
Regenerate the captions so they follow the new cut, then translate again. Regenerating resets your caption edits and translations, so make big cut changes first and translate last.
Do translated captions carry over to Adobe Premiere or DaVinci Resolve?
The text and timing do when you turn on Include captions in the handoff, and you choose which language to send. The styling stays in Selects, so restyle them in your editor.
