How do I send a Selects edit to Adobe Premiere?
- Open the timeline you want to work from.
- Click Export in the top right and choose Adobe Premiere under Handoff to.
- Pick your Premiere version, 2024, 2025 or 2026, set the options and click Handoff.
- Open the .prproj file in Premiere and carry on.
What comes across in the Premiere project?
The structure of the edit, linked to your original media:
- Edit points, track layout and speaker labels
- Your folders, mirrored in the project panel, plus a Synced Timelines folder
- Every draft as its own sequence
- Clip color labels and colored markers
- Topic titles as markers or captions, if you want them
- Caption text and timing, and the frame size
What doesn't carry over to Premiere?
Effects, transitions, color, text and graphics, keyframes, position and scale, and volume changes. Transitions become plain cuts, graphics arrive as gaps, and captions arrive as text without their styling.
Selects warns you before the handoff when it finds any of these, so if you finish in Premiere, that's where they go.
How do multicam angles arrive in Premiere?
Your choice. With Nest multi-cam on, the angles are nested into one sequence. With it off, each camera arrives on its own track, and Enable all multicam angles brings every camera across enabled.
A multicam sequence is included either way, so you can switch angles in Premiere without handing off again.
Can I start from footage I already synced in Premiere?
Yes. Import the .prproj into Selects and its synced sequences come in as synced timelines. Retimed clips and nested sequences are skipped.
Working from proxies? Make them in Premiere, import only the proxy folder into Selects, and relink to your camera files after you open the handoff.
Is Selects a Premiere plugin?
No. Selects is its own desktop app for macOS on Apple Silicon and Windows 11. You can finish the edit in it, or hand the project file to Premiere when you'd rather finish there. Selects is an Official Adobe Video Partner.
