Where they differ

  • Browser, or desktop

VEED runs in the browser on Mac, Windows, Linux and phones, and has iOS apps. If you want to edit anywhere with nothing to install, VEED is built for that. Selects is a desktop app for macOS on Apple Silicon and Windows 11.

  • Handoff to editing software

Selects hands off to Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve and Avid Media Composer as a project file. On VEED's pages, the outputs we found are video and subtitle files, not a project export to editing software.

  • Multicam

Selects syncs 10 or more camera angles plus separate mics by waveform or timecode, then switches cameras when you ask. We didn't find multicam on VEED's pages.

  • MCP on both, for different jobs

VEED's MCP generates new video from a prompt or an image with its Fabric 1.0 model. The Selects MCP lets Claude desktop, Claude Code, Codex and OpenClaw edit your own footage on the Selects timeline.

FAQ

Is Selects a good VEED alternative?

Yes, if you edit on a computer and want multicam, a multi-track timeline and a handoff to Premiere, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve or Avid Media Composer. You describe the edit and Selects cuts your footage.

If you'd rather edit in a browser with nothing to install, VEED is built for that.

Does Selects work in the browser?

No. Selects is a desktop app for macOS on Apple Silicon and Windows 11, and it needs an internet connection. Your projects stay on your computer.

Can I hand off a Selects edit to Premiere, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve or Avid Media Composer?

Yes. Selects exports a .prproj, .fcpxml, .drp or .aaf with your edit points, tracks, speaker labels and references to your original media.

Effects, color and text don't transfer, and transitions arrive as plain cuts, so you finish those in your editor.

Can Selects remove silences and filler words?

Yes. Remove silence trims pauses with presets or your own timings. Cut filler words works on English footage. Either one can be restored in the same app.

Can I edit with Claude or Codex instead?

Yes. Connect Claude desktop, Claude Code, Codex or OpenClaw to Selects over MCP, and your agent edits the footage in Selects. The agent's editing doesn't use Selects credits; analysis does.
